One Nation PAC endorses Doug Hoffman for Congress

One Nation PAC, a conservative political action committee, has endorsed conservative Republican Doug Hoffman for Congress in New York's 23rd Congressional District Special Election on November 3rd, 2009.

Doug Hoffman, a registered Republican who is running the Conservative Party line, is seeking to fill the vacant seat left by Congressman John McHugh.  McHugh, a Republican, was appointed Secretary of the Army by President Barack Obama.  Hoffman is being opposed by liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava and Democrat Bill Owens in this heated race.

Currently, Republicans hold only three congressional seats out of twenty-nine in New York.  Losing the 23rd Congressional District would bring that number down to two and thus conservative Republicans in Congress will further lose influence against controversial legislation, such as the proposed health care bill and further bailouts.

"Winning this seat will be the beginnings of the conservative comeback in Congress,  With just one year to go until the November 2010 congressional elections, a victory will show that conservative values and strong leadership matter to the American people," said Kelly S. Eustis, Executive Director of One Nation PAC.  Eustis attended college in St. Lawrence County which is located in the 23rd Congressional District of New York.

Doug Hoffman is a proven fiscal and social conservative.  Having worked through college and served in the Army, Hoffman is a prominent business leader in the North Country of New York.  He is pro-life and believes in limited government and lower taxes, unlike his endorsed Republican opponent, Dede Scozzafava.  New Yorkers have been appalled by the Republican establishment's choice of Scozzafava as candidate.

"The choice is clear," said Eustis. "A conservative leader that represents the values of the North Country, or choosing between a left-wing Republican and a 'Nancy Pelosi' Democrat who share the same liberal views of being pro-choice, anti-traditional marriage, higher taxes, big labor, and socialized healthcare."
