Late on Saturday, November 7, 2009, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in the House of Representatives sneakingly passed a historical and unprecedented $1 trillion, 1,990-page government-run healthcare reform bill. The deficit-exploding legislation, which was voted 220 to 215, is now moving to the Senate where a socialistic take over of our healthcare could soon be a reality.
What could the future hold? Americans will need to have health insurance or face penalties. Larger businesses will be required to offer insurance to employees. Tighter restrictions will cause private insurance premiums to sky-rocket, and the government option would be even more expensive according to the Congressional Budget Office. Higher taxes on the middle class. Cuts to the elderly's Medicare amounting to $400 billion within a decade. And more out-of-control regulations.
It's up to us to see that this financial and bureaucratic nightmare is not passed in the Senate.
